University Housing Program

Introduction

The Brigham Young University–Hawaii provides housing that will contribute to a comfortable standard of living and a wholesome family environment for eligible occupants.

University Owned Homes

The university owns homes in Laie and on campus. These include single-family homes, duplex, and triplex multi-family dwellings. Assignment of the homes is available to eligible faculty or staff members. All homes are fitted with a refrigerator and an electric or gas range. The majority of the homes are equipped with built-in dishwashers. Homes are provided with window curtains. Upon occupying the home, tenants must sign a rental agreement. The university reserves the right to terminate a rental agreement.

Housing Priority Assignment

University housing priority is determined by date of hire, and acceptance date. Date of hire and acceptance date are determined by the Human Resources office.

Home Visits/Inspections

The Housing Operations office will conduct an annual home visit/inspection. The condition of the home will be noted and items will be scheduled for replacement as needed. Please review Handbooks and Policies for tenant responsibilities.
